Prevention of Heel Pain

Although it may not be able to avoid all instances of heel pain, there are several simple precautions you may take to prevent injury and suffering:

• Wear shoes that are well-fitting and supportive of the foot.
• Maintain a nutritious diet.
• When you're fatigued or your muscles hurt, take a break.
• Maintain a healthy body mass index (BMI)
• If you're going to be active, be sure you're wearing the correct shoes.
• Before you exercise, stretch your muscles.
• Maintain a steady pace while exercising.
